I’m constantly worried that I’m not making the most of my life.
I only have one (duh) and I want to make the most of every moment.
I start to panic – I could be doing this, I should be trying that, I want to experience EVERYTHING this world has to offer me.
Then I slow down. What kind of a way to live your life is that? Constantly worrying about cramming things in, trying to do everything. It wouldn’t be a happy, content one – that’s for sure.
So I’ve made a decision. I’m going to take my one life and live it, but I’m going to live in the moment. Make the most of the present, be spontaneous and find joy in the little things.
This post is honestly so true – I hate wasting time and sometimes I feel really upset that I’ve spent so much time doing this thing that I feel isn’t productive…thank you for posting!

This is very true, it’s so easy to get caught up in thinking about the future or the past and forget to live in the present. I also really relate to feeling like you’re not making the most of your life, especially when I realise that there are loads of things that people my age have already done that I still haven’t (like going to concerts and parties and camps), but hey, I’ve still got my whole life ahead of me! I can do everything I want in the future, there’s no rush π

Yes, you’re right! I am always dwelling on the past or worrying about the future and I really do feel the need to live more in the present. Yes, yes, yes! I feel exactly the same way, but hey, we’ve had different experiences to them, haven’t we? You go girl. The future will be great π

Exactly. We have got to enjoy our life as it is. Right now. We can worry about it tomorrow. Today isn’t going to come again so make use of it positively π

Such a great sentiment Gracie. We spend a lot of time looking forward or backward often forget the here and now and miss so much. I would also catch all opportunities with both hands and never be afraid to say yes. You never know where you those yesβs will take you xxxx

I think we should enjoy the small things and live in the moment and totally enjoy it and be grateful to God for the moment. I think we should strain towards the end goal, (God, Heaven), but I think we should love in the present, or else it will pass us by. Amazing post!

Thoughts of this have been constantly coming and going through my head for more than a year now. I have some really great friends who are such in-the-moment people who enjoy everything that life has to give them that I often look at them and feel- I want to be like that!
I even tried to behave that way for some time. I even remember talking to my mom about it. But I’ve realised that I’m just not that kind of person. I can’t take a moment and LIVE through it, I will analyze it and taste it and think about where it will take me, I just can NOT stay still and accept it for simply WHAT IT IS.
I want to experience every little thing, but I’m the thinker- my mind will not stay in the same place for a long time. Staying in the moment just refuses to happen and that makes me feel somewhat lesser, as though I’m not as happy as I should be. But I’m living with it now, I guess, and life’s pretty good as it is, so I don’t find any need to try to change that.
So I guess I can say I’m going to take my one life and live it, and live it with a good heart and a good attitude and a wandering mind that’s never still, never satisfied, always searching. π

I can totally relate! I analyze and overthink, but it always feels like I do these to the wrong thing! I put tons of effort into the unimportant and completely miss the essential parts of my future I should be thinking about. It’s confusing and I, like you, am still trying to figure it all out. You’ve got to get the balance right.
“take my one life and live it, and live it with a good heart and a good attitude and a wandering mind thatβs never still, never satisfied, always searching. π” That sentence is me in a nutshell. I’m so glad to have met you, Mukta. You always seem to understand me.
