~Goodbye, Carefree Summer~

Goodbye, carefree summer. You’re nearly gone now. I can still smell you in the wood smoke on my t-shirts though, hear you echoing in the laughter of my friends and feel you in the wind against my face, it’s much colder now. I miss you already.

I said my goodbyes in style. The water was freezing, but it was worth it….I let go, I went wild, I celebrated your legacy all the carefree spirit that’s inside me.

~Goodbye, Carefree Summer~

It’s true – happiness comes in waves.

You can’t stop the waves, but you can learn to surf…(which is what I fully intend to do)

The ocean is everything I want to be; mysterious, beautiful, wild and free.

Make waves, my friend πŸ˜‰Β

And now I’m ready. Ready for autumn and it’s untamed beauty. Ready for its fiery chill and crisp embrace. Come at me. I’m ready.

  1. This was such a lovely post! It’s made me miss the sea though… πŸ˜‚ I’m sorta sad that summer’s over and I don’t have as much time to relax and do what I want, but I’m also pretty excited for what the next few months will bring! (Though I can’t believe the colder weather has come so quickly?! It was really warm last week where I live, but in the last few days it’s gotten super windy and freezing… what happened to summer πŸ˜‚)

    • Thank you so much, Andrea! I know, I live pretty far away from the sea and I miss it so much 😦 Same here! I love summer, but I’m kind of excited for autumn too πŸ™‚ and yessss, the weather is so weird πŸ˜‚

  3. Gracie, that sea could be warmer! Though I have swum as late as November and as early as April.
What calendar do you recognise? I consider the Equinoxes and solstices to be the middle of each season because they are the extremities, i.e. the middle of summer being the longest day.

I like autumn, I can cycle faster in the cool and usually far more active, I have to winter-proof the boats and get wood for the fires.
    What’s your favourite season?
I am currently sitting on a bench, two cycling hours away from home. I think it a better strategy to cycle in the early morning, what do you think?
    Take care, Gracie: Tom.

    • It was certainly very cold, Tom! I didn’t mind at all though πŸ™‚

I like autumn too! Though summer and autumn are equal in my opinion, I think. Yes, I like doing things on the early morning too. Though not so much the waking up part πŸ˜‰
