Heyo there people 💙✌️
I’m really, really excited to share this post with you all today. It’s something that’s really important to me and I would so appreciate any support you can offer as friends and members of this amazing community we call the blogosphere 😊
My family and I are taking on a bit of an epic challenge this year and I’m here to tell you all about it and to let you know how YOU can get involved! Hopefully we’ll all have some fun along the way…
Slightly crazily, we’re driving around the UK coast on only £10 a day (£5 food and £5 fuel for a family of five 😬) to raise money for CatZero. CatZero are a charity transforming the lives of young people and making a huge difference in their futures. They use sailing as an intense learning environment to teach self-confidence, resilience, teamwork and other invaluable life skills. As someone passionate about creating a better world for her generation and generations to come, as well as sailing and the difference it makes, CatZero are an inspiration to me.
Round The UK On A Tenner A Day is 100% a bit crazy and it’s definitely gonna be an adventure, but we’re all up for it and would love for you to follow us on our journey. Here’s our challenge video to explain a bit more about what we’re doing and how 👇
Now for some ways that YOU can get involved!
- Donate directly to CatZero! We’ve set up a giving page which makes donating online super quick and easy 😄
- Share our story on your blog/social media! Here are the links to our Twitter, Instagram and FaceBook. Please feel free to spread the word and help us get Round The UK On A Tenner A Day out there in whatever way you can.
- Do your own mini fundraiser….whether it’s a cake sale….a sponsored walk or cycle…dye your hair…sell something you don’t need anymore…..whatever.. be creative! You can donate any money raised directly to CatZero through our giving page and support the life changing programmes they run for young people.
•If you live on the UK coast then definitely get in touch and maybe we can arrange to meet up…we’re always grateful for a driveway to park on for a night as we pass through and it would be awesome to meet some of you guys along the way…
Feel free to do as little or as much as you would like or are able to do – just knowing I have your support and encouragement means a lot 🙂
If you have any ideas or questions please don’t hesitate to leave a comment below or to drop me an email via my contact page. Thank you all for reading ♥️🤘

So 10 pounds is 13 dollars. I’m very confused lol. In the States, 13 bucks buy you 2 burgers and a milkshake. Are things just extremely cheap in the UK?
Anyway, I think this is a great thing that your family is doing 🙂 x

Haha, yeah, it’s definitely going to be a challenge 😂 basically, we’re hoping to be able to exchange our skills and enthusiasm for food, water and a place to park for a night on our journey so hopefully that will work out….we’ll see 😁 thank you so much, Isa xx

I mean I am going to Germany this summer!!! But sadly I’m not coming to the u.K. I’ll try to donate if i can. Does this organization do something with disabled youth as well?Do you know? I’m just curious.

Oh nooo, so close 😄 one day we’ll get to meet! Ah, thank you that would be amazing if you could! Yes! They actually do a lot with young people who are blind, deaf and with other disabilities. A lot of the professionals I know say that some of the best sailors they know are blind and that they have absolutely AMAZING senses and are re much more connected to the wind and the ocean. They also do a lot of work with disadvantaged young people, young people with mental health issues, young people struggling at school or unemployed, army veterans, LGBTQ groups, etc .They are truly amazing!

Omg I want to work there!! And yes we’ll meet one day!!!

Haha, so do I!! Hopefully I’ll get to volunteer soon. They’ve actually said that I can sail with them to Norway or Holland next year so that’s pretty exciting!

I’d love to do an internship with them one day. Or another organization that’s similar to them. Omg holland?I’ve always wanted to go there!!! Have you worked with someone who’s been disabled? Also how did you hear about them? Through family? Friends? Or another source? Lol sorry!!! This sound like an interview hahahah. I don’t mean it like that. Also sorry for the long comment.

Yes, there’s loads and loads of sail training and youth development charities like them globally (mainly in the UK, but I believe there are some in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, as well as other parts of Europe). However they are quite unique in the programmes they run and the long-term support they offer.
I haven’t actually ever sailed with any disabled people, but to make a difference in their lives through sailing as well as any other young people of my generation is literally my goal in life!!
I heard about them just through being involved in the sailing/sail training (the charities that take young people sailing)
No no, ask as many questions as you want. Honestly, I love talking about it lol xx

Omg I would love working with such a company. I’ve heard about a organization that I think is spesificley for blind people that helps us give back to our communities. For example, I knew of a girl who went to rural parts of China and taught kids there to read Braille. I don’t know thte name of the organization though. I love your passion honestly.
